Renaissance Furniture Restoration Company was created in 1993 by Boris Levitt, who had twenty years of previous experience in restoration furniture in Odessa, Ukraine, where he was able to learn the traditions of master craftsmen of the past.

Since settling in San Francisco in 1990, Boris Levitt has studied the advances of modern technology while working for local restoration companies and experimenting with different materials.

Soon after its establishment Renaissance was recognized by many collectors, dealers, and designers, who have been highly satisfied with Boris’s work.

As a result, in 1995, Renaissance Restoration was awarded the “Certificate of Honor” by the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco “in recognition of the tradition of fine craftsmanship, pride and service which the company brings to the people of San Francisco.”

In 1996 Renaissance Restoration became a member of the Better Business Bureau, promoting “business ethics and self-regulation in the public interest.” The company received no complaints since.

In 2000 the company was awarded the “ValueStar Customer-Rated Gold Seal” for “consistently delivering very high customer satisfaction and for passing all credential verification steps: insurance, legal, financial status, and state license requirements.”

Renaissance Restoration Company continues to maintain the values that it has been known for. Its list of commercial customers includes Hermés Paris, Banana Republic, Neiman Marcus, JW Marriott Hotel, Charles Schwab, Mark Hopkins Hotel, Big Four Restaurant at Huntington Hotel, British Consulate General, Hawthorne Lane Restaurant, Consulate General of Germany, Consulate General of Japan, Seton Medical Center and others.

At the same time its principal business consists of the restoration of furniture belonging to ordinary San Francisco families. Year after year customers come back to Renaissance Restoration with new projects. They receive personal attention to their needs and understanding of their situation. They entrust their valued possessions to reliable hands.
